  • Addressing disordered eating has many unique challenges.

  • We are often told to abstain from something when it is causing us strife. However, food is unique in that there is no way to pause time, to simply stop eating. We must continue to face food every day.

  • Most of us grow up to cook, eat, and clean the same way our caretakers did when we were children. Some of these habits are more obvious, but others are hidden in the shadows. Struggles today may be related to behaviors that began decades prior.
