Common Plates: Peer Support Group

I’m JB, a personal chef here in Chicago, and I’m thrilled to invite you to join Common Plates, my new peer support group for eating & food struggles starting in 2025!

As someone who has spent the last decade working in the culinary industry, I've seen how deeply personal, emotional, and private our relationship with food can be. Many of us struggle with cooking for ourselves or face hidden challenges related to disordered eating, often feeling shame or isolation. With holidays coming soon, now is a great time to find community and support. There are no restrictions on enrollment - I encourage anyone interested in these topics to join. Oftentimes, talking to a professional can feel intimidating or inaccessible, which is why this group is here to help.

What to Expect:
✅ A facilitated, safe, and open environment where all members are equals
✅ Discussions on topics like grocery shopping anxiety, meal prep burnout, and more
✅ Empowering support from peers who understand your journey

Meeting Details:
🗓️ When: Weekday TBD at 7 PM (starting 2025)
🌐 Where: Google Meet (link provided upon RSVP)

There’s no pressure for commitment, and this group is COMPLETELY FREE! I will encourage “camera on” participation only for those who feel comfortable, and the size will be limited to 12 participants. If this doesn’t sound like the right fit for you, but you’re still looking for help -  I’m happy to provide resources or help connect you with a counselor.

If you’re interested, please use the CONTACT form below or DM me on Instagram. I’ll share the link for our first session once the group is finalized. Whatever you are struggling with, you are not alone! ❤️
